Biography
„Ohne Musik wäre das Leben ein Irrtum“ („Without music life would be meaningless“)
– Nietzsche
I am born and raised in a musically talented family in Copenhagen, Denmark, and music and singing has been a part of my life ever since I was a little girl. My first experiences with music were in the elementary school of Sankt Annae Gymnasium and in the Danish National Girls Choir. Later on, I went to MGK in Copenhagen (Basic Course in Music) and in 2007, I passed the entrance exam at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, from where I have hold a master’s degree in Arts (Master of Arts). In 2015 I made my debut concert from the Solo Performance Class at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Southern Denmark.
The magic and power of music has always fascinated me, and I believe that Nietzsche’s quote from above best describes why I became a singer.
Alongside with my studies, I have participated in a number of opera productions and some of the most valued experiences I have made on the stage include singing Silvia in Haydn’s “L’isola disabitata”, Despina in Mozart’s “Così fan tutte”, as well as the title role of Carl Orff’s “Die Kluge”. In 2012, I was given a choir solo at the Vienna State Opera, which was also a fantastic experience.
In the past years, I have been especially fascinated with the art song and the intimacy and honesty, which is demanded for this type of expression. When you dive into the repertoire, you find one treasure after another, and I can get just as excited as a little child when I succeed in finding an unknown gem of a Lied in a dusty library.
